Hymenocallis speciosa, known as the green-tinge spiderlily, is a notable species within the genus Hymenocallis, originally found in the Windward Islands of the eastern Caribbean. This bulb-forming perennial is admired for its ornamental value and has been introduced to places like Cuba and the Bahamas.
The plant features a stipe that can grow up to 50 cm tall. Its lanceolate leaves can reach lengths of up to 50 cm and widths of about 10 cm, tapering into a petiole. Each umbel can bear up to 20 striking flowers. The flowers are predominantly white with a characteristic greenish tinge, and their tepals reflex, or curl backward, during blooming.
