Signs of Cold Stress in Shoestring fern
Symptoms
Shoestring fern favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, foliage may lose some color. Following frost damage, the hue progressively shifts to brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any sections damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light exposure. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Shoestring fern
Symptoms
In summer, Shoestring fern should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the leaves' color lightens, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area that offers protection from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
