Signs of Cold Stress in Tufted poppy
Symptoms
Tufted poppy tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 40℉. If temperatures drop below 30℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Tufted poppy
Symptoms
In summer, Tufted poppy should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
