Signs of Cold Stress in Crucifix orchid
Symptoms
Crucifix orchid flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 55℉. If the temperature drops below 45℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked decay, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly move the plant indoors to a warm spot for cold protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Crucifix orchid
Symptoms
In summer, Crucifix orchid should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant development stops, and leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and can easily suffer sunburn from direct sunlight.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
