Signs of Cold Temperatures in Nevada ephedra
Symptoms
Nevada ephedra tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, even if no immediate changes are visible in winter, branches might become fragile and parched in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of Warm Temperatures in Nevada ephedra
Symptoms
In summer, Nevada ephedra should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures go above 90℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, the tips could become dry and shriveled, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off the sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric to provide cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
