Signs of Cold Stress in Japanese dodder
Symptoms
Japanese dodder tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 59℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, while winter changes might be unapparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, eliminate any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Japanese dodder
Symptoms
In summer, Japanese dodder should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage may lighten, curl easily, suffer sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant might wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried-out portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
