Signs of Cold Stress in Barbed grass
Symptoms
Barbed grass tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 59℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Barbed grass
Symptoms
During summer, Barbed grass should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, plant leaves may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant might wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering midday and afternoon shade, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
