Signs of Cold Stress in Strawberry Spinach
Symptoms
Strawberry Spinach tolerates cool temperatures moderately well, flourishing optimally between 60℉ and 70℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, foliage may darken. In extreme situations, water-soaked tissue death, wilting, and drooping can occur, with leaves progressively turning brown.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position the plant near a south-facing window for adequate sunlight. If natural light is insufficient, consider using artificial grow lights.
Signs of Heat Stress in Strawberry Spinach
Symptoms
In summer, Strawberry Spinach should be maintained below 70℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and susceptibility to sun damage increases.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried out. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Water the plant during the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
