Signs of Cold Stress in Manchurian wildrice
Symptoms
Manchurian wildrice tolerates cool conditions moderately well, flourishing optimally between 68℉ and 86℉. In winter, temperatures should remain above 59℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, foliage may darken. Extreme cold can lead to water-soaked tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of the leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for adequate light. If natural light is insufficient, provide artificial illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Manchurian wildrice
Symptoms
In summer, Manchurian wildrice needs to be kept below 86℉. When temperatures exceed 95℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-scorched or dried sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
