Signs of Cold Stress in Mustang grape
Symptoms
Mustang grape tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might be subtle, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of Heat Stress in Mustang grape
Symptoms
In summer, Mustang grape should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
