Signs of Cold Stress in Scarlet sage
Symptoms
Scarlet sage tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Scarlet sage
Symptoms
In summer, Scarlet sage should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, the plant's foliage may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant might wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
