Signs of Cold Stress in Soapbush
Symptoms
Soapbush tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 55℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, foliage may begin to sag. Mild cases can lead to recovery, but severe instances will cause leaves to wilt and eventually shed.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent exposure to low temperatures, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold drafts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Soapbush
Symptoms
In summer, Soapbush should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaf coloration lightens, leaf tips might become dry and shriveled, leaves may curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
