Signs of Cold Stress in Camphor tree
Symptoms
Camphor tree exhibits moderate resilience to cold and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 41℉, foliage may begin to sag. Mild instances allow recovery, but severe cases lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent exposure to low temperatures, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from cold gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Camphor tree
Symptoms
In summer, Camphor tree should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, leaf coloration lightens, leaf tips may dry and shrivel, leaves might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
