Ideal Temperature for Japanese chess
Images of Japanese chess
Indications of Low Temperature in Japanese chess
Symptoms
Japanese chess tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 41℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Indications of High Temperature in Japanese chess
Symptoms
During summer, Japanese chess should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant might wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to ensure soil moisture.
