Indications of Low Temperature in Mexican sunflower
Symptoms
Mexican sunflower tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 64℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In springtime, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Indications of High Temperature in Mexican sunflower
Symptoms
During summer, Mexican sunflower should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sun damage, and in extreme cases, the entire plant may wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and dried-out portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or utilize a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
