White-Fleshed Pitahaya flourishes in warm climates and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, the plant may weaken, droop, and become susceptible to root decay. Minor frost damage might not show immediate signs, but the plant will progressively decline after about a week.

Prune away frost-damaged sections, checking for root rot. If roots are rotted, remove them, and the plant can be propagated via cuttings. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting, positioning the plant near a south-facing window for abundant light. If natural light is inadequate, consider using supplementary illumination.

In summer, White-Fleshed Pitahaya should be maintained below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's development will halt, it will dehydrate, wilt, and become more vulnerable to sun damage.

Excise the sunburnt and decayed portions. Protect the plant from direct afternoon sun until it recuperates and resumes growth. For plants with root rot, cease irrigation until new roots start to form.
