Signs of Cold Stress in African violet
Symptoms
African violet thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It grows best when temperatures are above 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 55℉, leaves may lose color. After frost, they gradually turn brown or black, showing signs of wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Immediately relocate indoors to a warm area for protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Also, avoid placing it near heating or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in African violet
Symptoms
In summer, African violet should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, leaves lighten in color, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove any sunburned and dried areas. Move the plant to a spot offering shade from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
