Signs of Cold Stress in Chinese bush cherry
Symptoms
Chinese bush cherry tolerates cold well and flourishes best when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, even if no immediate changes are seen in winter, branches might become fragile and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new leaves.
Signs of Heat Stress in Chinese bush cherry
Symptoms
In summer, Chinese bush cherry should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures go above 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in color, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Cut off the sunburned and dried sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
