Signs of Cold Temperatures in Garden cress
Symptoms
Garden cress tolerates cool temperatures moderately well, flourishing optimally when temperatures range from 60℉ to 70℉. In colder months, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, foliage might darken. Severe cases can lead to water-soaked necrosis, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When inside, position it near a south-facing window for adequate sunlight. If light is insufficient, consider using additional grow lights.
Signs of High Temperatures in Garden cress
Symptoms
In summer, Garden cress should be maintained below 70℉. When temperatures surpass 75℉, the plant's development slows, its leaves lighten in color, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried out. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the afternoon sun. Water the plant during the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
