Signs of Cold Stress in Millot kalanchoe
Symptoms
Millot kalanchoe cannot withstand extremely low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures range from 65℉ to 75℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 55℉, leaves will show water-soaked damage and droop. Minor frost damage might not be immediately apparent, but within a week, leaves will severely wilt and detach.
Solutions
Cut away any frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for thermal insulation. If moving indoors, select a south-facing window for sufficient light. If using a makeshift greenhouse, ensure proper air circulation to prevent rot from stagnant air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Millot kalanchoe
Symptoms
In summer, Millot kalanchoe should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the plant enters dormancy and is more susceptible to rot in humid conditions.
Solutions
Prune off any dry or decayed portions. Transfer the plant to a location with partial shade, shielding it from direct sun during midday and afternoon. Cease watering until temperatures decrease.
