Signs of Cold Stress in Chicken-feather orchid
Symptoms
Chicken-feather orchid flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 55℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked decay, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly move the plant indoors to a warm spot for cold protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Also, avoid placing it near heating or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Chicken-feather orchid
Symptoms
In summer, Chicken-feather orchid should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the plant stops growing, and its leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and can easily get sunburned in direct sunlight.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
