Signs of Cold Stress in Spoonleaf sundew
Symptoms
Spoonleaf sundew tolerates cool temperatures moderately well, flourishing optimally between 70℉ and 80℉. In colder months, temperatures should remain above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may darken. Extreme cold can lead to water-soaked tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of the leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for adequate light. If natural light is insufficient, provide artificial illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Spoonleaf sundew
Symptoms
In summer, Spoonleaf sundew should be maintained below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched or desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
