Signs of Cold Stress in Venus flytrap
Symptoms
Venus flytrap tolerates cool temperatures moderately well, flourishing optimally between 70℉ and 80℉. In winter, temperatures should remain above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may darken. Severe cold can lead to water-soaked tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of the leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position the plant near a south-facing window for adequate light. If natural light is insufficient, provide artificial illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Venus flytrap
Symptoms
In summer, Venus flytrap should be maintained below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and desiccated. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
