Signs of Cold Stress in Rock orchid
Symptoms
Rock orchid flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs above 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Below 40℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked decay, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove damaged, frost-affected sections. Promptly move indoors to a warm spot for cold protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid placing near heating or AC vents to prevent air from becoming too dry.
Signs of Heat Stress in Rock orchid
Symptoms
In summer, Rock orchid should be kept below 75℉. Above 85℉, growth stops, and leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and sunburn when exposed to direct sun.
Solutions
Cut off any sun-damaged or dried-out portions. Relocate the plant to a spot shaded from midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain plant and environmental moisture.
