Signs of Cold Stress in Possum grape
Symptoms
Possum grape favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 59℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, its foliage might lose some color. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping can appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it close to heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Possum grape
Symptoms
In summer, Possum grape should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures rise above 86℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to an area that offers protection from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant during the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
