Ideal Temperature for Papaya
Images of Papaya
Indications of Cold Conditions in Papaya
Symptoms
Papaya thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may lose its vibrant color. Following frost exposure, leaves progressively turn brown or black, exhibiting signs like wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area for protection against cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Indications of Hot Conditions in Papaya
Symptoms
In summer, Papaya should be maintained below 90℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, leaves become paler, and the plant is more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
