Signs of Cold Stress in Jelly palm
Symptoms
Jelly palm favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 30℉, foliage may lose some color. Following frost damage, the hue progressively shifts to brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring plenty of light. Furthermore, avoid positioning the plant near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Jelly palm
Symptoms
In summer, Jelly palm should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the foliage color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any parts that are sunburned and desiccated. Relocate the plant to an area that offers protection from the sun during midday and afternoon. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
