Signs of Cold Stress in Foxtail fern
Symptoms
Foxtail fern thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes best when temperatures are above 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 55℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, leaves may lose their vibrant color. Following frost damage, foliage progressively browns or blackens, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Foxtail fern
Symptoms
In summer, Foxtail fern should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaf coloration fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
