Signs of Cold Stress in African-lily
Symptoms
African-lily tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases are reversible, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from chilly gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in African-lily
Symptoms
In summer, African-lily should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, leaves lighten in color, tips may dry and shrivel, foliage might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
