A species of Tylopilus.
Tylopilus plumbeoviolaceus, commonly known as the Grayflesh Bolete, is a species of mushroom belonging to the bolete family. It thrives in sandy environments and is often spotted on the forest floor, typically in close proximity to oak and pine trees. A distinctive feature of this mushroom is its reaction to bruising: the cap and pores turn an orange-gray hue, a color that deepens to nearly black in more mature specimens. This mushroom is indigenous to North America and was only recently discovered and classified by the scientific community.
