Blushing tricholoma

Tricholoma orirubens

A species of Tricholoma.

Tricholoma orirubens features a cap, up to 7.5 cm (3.0 in) across, that is dark grey to grey-brown, adorned with darker, almost black scales, and possesses a rim that can be either straight or wavy. Initially, the cap is conical with a modest central raised area, which later flattens out, ultimately presenting either a central bump or a depression. Its thick, grey gills are either notched or broadly attached to the stem and are spaced far apart, visibly reddening upon damage. The stalk, which is ringless and white to light grey, stands between 4.5 and 8 cm high and measures 0.7 to 2.5 cm in width, uniquely characterized by a bluish hue at its base.
