Matt knight
Tricholoma imbricatum
A species of Tricholoma.
The rough knight, an agaric mushroom, forms a symbiotic bond with pine trees. It's identifiable by its coarse feel, which becomes more pronounced as it ages. With maturity, the cap develops a finely scaly surface. Though typically odorless, a faint mealy or sweet scent may occasionally be detected.
