Pholiota subamara

Belonging to the Strophariaceae family, Pholiota subamara is a species recognized for its lignicolous habit, consistently found growing on wood. It commonly exhibits a gregarious arrangement and possesses small to medium-sized caps that frequently develop a viscid surface when moist. The lamellae on the underside are crowded, transitioning from a pale hue to a deeper brown as the fungus matures.
