Belted slimy cort
Cortinarius collinitus
A species of Cortinar.
The mushroom's cap measures between 3 and 9 cm across, presenting a form that ranges from curved to flat. Its surface is characterized by a sticky, jelly-like texture, particularly noticeable in damp environments. The lamellae are attached to the stalk, closely spaced, and exhibit a pallid to light violet hue. The stem commonly reaches lengths of 6 to 12 cm and thicknesses of 1 to 1.5 cm; it is solid, uniform in width, and marked by scaly bands running horizontally. The impression left by its spores, consistent with the majority of Cortinarius species, is a rusty-brown. This particular species' suitability for consumption remains undetermined.
