Signs of Cold Stress in Peruvian zinnia
Symptoms
Peruvian zinnia tolerates cold well and flourishes best when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Peruvian zinnia
Symptoms
In summer, Peruvian zinnia should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sun damage, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
