Signs of Cold Temperatures in Common zinnia
Symptoms
Common zinnia tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of High Temperatures in Common zinnia
Symptoms
In summer, Common zinnia should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant leaves might lighten, curl easily, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the whole plant may wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
