Signs of Cold Stress in Rain lily
Symptoms
Rain lily tolerates cool conditions moderately well, flourishing optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Should the temperature drop below 40℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor instances allow for recovery, but severe cases lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from chilly gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Rain lily
Symptoms
In summer, Rain lily should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, leaf coloration lightens, leaf tips might dry and shrivel, leaves may curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
