Signs of Cold Conditions in Chinese chaste tree
Symptoms
Chinese chaste tree tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, even if no immediate changes are visible in winter, branches might become fragile and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of Excessive Heat in Chinese chaste tree
Symptoms
In summer, Chinese chaste tree should be kept below 80℉. When temperatures go above 90℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off the parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
