Ideal Temperature for Spinach

Signs of Cold Stress in Spinach
Symptoms
Spinach exhibits moderate resilience to cold and flourishes optimally within a temperature range of 60℉ to 70℉. In colder months, temperatures should remain above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 35℉, foliage may darken. In extreme instances, water-soaked tissue death, wilting, and drooping can occur, with leaves progressively turning brown.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection against cold. When indoors, position the plant near a south-facing window for adequate sunlight. If light is insufficient, provide supplementary illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Spinach
Symptoms
In summer, Spinach should be maintained below 70℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, plant development decelerates, leaf coloration lightens, and susceptibility to sun damage increases.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Transfer the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
