Signs of Cold Stress in Goldenrod
Symptoms
Goldenrod tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 59℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 41℉, while winter might show no immediate effects, spring could see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Goldenrod
Symptoms
In summer, Goldenrod should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures go above 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
