Signs of Cold Stress in Sloanea
Symptoms
Sloanea exhibits a moderate resilience to cold and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 50℉. Should the temperature drop below 41℉, the foliage may begin to sag. Mild instances allow for recovery, but severe cases lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent exposure to low temperatures, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from cold gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Sloanea
Symptoms
In the summer, Sloanea needs to be kept below 77℉. If temperatures rise above 86℉, the leaves' hue will lighten, their tips might become dry and shriveled, the leaves could curl, and the plant will be more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any parts that are sunburned and dried out. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
