Signs of Cold Stress in Scarlet sage
Symptoms
Scarlet sage favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes best when temperatures exceed 64℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 59℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, its foliage might lose some color. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping can appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from the cold. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring plenty of light. Furthermore, avoid positioning the plant near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
