Ideal Temperature for Horsetail tree
Signs of Cold Stress in Horsetail tree
Symptoms
Horsetail tree tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 45℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases allow for recovery, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent exposure to low temperatures, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Horsetail tree
Symptoms
In summer, Horsetail tree should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaf coloration lightens, leaf tips might dry and shrivel, leaves may curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
