Signs of Cold Temperatures in Swamp Azalea
Symptoms
Swamp Azalea tolerates cold well and flourishes best when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 30℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of High Temperatures in Swamp Azalea
Symptoms
During summer, Swamp Azalea should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, tips may dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
