Signs of Cold Temperatures in Needle palm
Symptoms
Needle palm tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 45℉. If temperatures drop below 20℉, while no immediate changes might be seen in winter, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of Warm Temperatures in Needle palm
Symptoms
In summer, Needle palm should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures go above 95℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in color, tips could dry and shrivel, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off the sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
