Signs of Cold Temperatures in Water oak
Symptoms
Water oak tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, even if no immediate changes are seen in winter, branches might become fragile and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new leaves.
Signs of High Temperatures in Water oak
Symptoms
In summer, Water oak should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures go above 95℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, tips could dry and wither, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned and dried sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
