Signs of Cold Temperatures in Swamp white oak
Symptoms
Swamp white oak tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 32℉. If temperatures drop below 5℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of High Temperatures in Swamp white oak
Symptoms
During summer, Swamp white oak should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures go above 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in color, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
