Signs of Cold Stress in Arrow bamboo
Symptoms
Arrow bamboo tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 30℉, while no immediate winter damage may be apparent, spring sprouting could be reduced or absent.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout successfully.
Signs of Heat Stress in Arrow bamboo
Symptoms
In summer, Arrow bamboo should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, the plant's leaves may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the entire plant might wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area shaded from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
