Signs of Cold Stress in Tibetan cherry
Symptoms
Tibetan cherry tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 32℉. If temperatures drop below 20℉, while no immediate winter damage may be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, preventing new growth.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of Heat Stress in Tibetan cherry
Symptoms
During summer, Tibetan cherry should be kept below 65℉. When temperatures surpass 75℉, the plant's leaves may lighten in color, tips might dry and shrivel, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
