Signs of Cold in Chinese plum
Symptoms
Chinese plum tolerates cold well and grows optimally above 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, winter effects might be unnoticeable, but branches could become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of Heat in Chinese plum
Symptoms
In summer, keep Chinese plum below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaves may lighten, tips might dry and wither, and the plant becomes prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove sun-damaged and dried sections. Relocate the plant to a spot shaded from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
